Stillness of the Soul

There are many things in life that fall into the category of “can’t afford” in the present economy . . . my own and our nation’s.  There is, though, one thing I cannot afford NOT to have and in my personal opinion, nor can you afford to miss out on it in your day.  Quiet time.

I know, you’re busy.  Most of us are although people typically judge “us” as idle and “themselves” as overworked, especially when “fools” like me say “quiet time is essential.” Sorry, but it is.  Even if you can only take a minute, TAKE IT.

A minute isn’t much, but on the other hand, when you’re waiting for that morning cup of coffee, that minute is long.  When you await that important phone call, a minute can last forever.  When it’s almost time to go home, eat lunch, kiss the one who’s been serving in the military for months . . .  that minute before “it” finally happens is LONG.

So, start small and take that minute.  Maybe, you’ll find you can steal a few in your day at random times.  Does your mind wander in quiet times? Don’t stress, just breath . . . reel it back in . . . listen to your soul . . . seek to hear His voice . . . you will come to hear it.

A minute of letting go of everything and just simply “being” will make all the “stuff” in your day go better.  You will accomplish more.  You will focus better.  You will find peace . . .

Prayer unfolds in the stillness of the soul.

Thank you, Martha, for helping us realize the importance of those moments with Him! God bless you!
