Okay, this may not be my most blissful post, but it’s heartfelt and honest. Please know that when you are focused on the Lord and His path for your life and when you give your heart to Him, the evil one will do all he can to prevent this. Hey, did he not try this with the Lord Himself just before the crucifiction? This is true. Read all about it in Matthew’s Gospel, Matthew 4:1-11.
Well, my friends, if the devil tried to win the heart of Christ, surely you don’t think he’ll stay away from trying his ways with us? We’re without a doubt easier targets than our Lord. I say this knowing that it’s true because my life in the last two weeks has been full of the Holy Spirit and full of an awareness of the love that Jesus has for me and full of a new hope in a future that I’ve been seeking for over 3 years now. Naturally, Satan chose someone close to me to say things that would plant a seed of doubt, steal my joy, and IN THE PAST possibly cause me to take the easy way out and quit.
When we are in a life changing situation and in a close walk with the Lord, that’s exactly when Satan works hardest and he can be really convincing about how wrong we are. He will plant seeds of doubt in your mind that you’re not listening to the Lord correctly. You’re not hearing what He really said. Don’t listen to Satan. Pray, listen, and follow only Christ. You will know His voice – it’s the voice of LOVE.
If you could also pray for me, I’d appreciate it. Have a prayer request of your own? Comment with it and I’ll pray for you as well. Thank you.
Martha: I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to remind you of the Word of God, for it is God’s Word Jesus used to fight temptation. He brings everything to your remembrance…

Thank you! His timing was great. I had 5 minutes free before leaving for a couple of meetings at church, so I called a friend to pray with me as this was a bit unnerving even knowing what was going on, then I got to my meeting before anyone else, so I went into the sanctuary to pray for a few minutes and mostly to be still and listen and felt so much peace come over me. Your prayers are appreciated. Truly!

Satan’s greatest tool is his mouth. Shut his mouth and you have won the battle. Girl, I can understand where you are coming from…it seems every time I feel like I’m making ground, Satan sticks out his foot and tries to trip me…or should I say his tongue. Do not listen to him. You are doing God’s work and God is glorified by your words. I am praying for you! 🙂

Thanks! Even though we know it will happen, it’s still really difficult to swallow. I’m feeling the prayers! He never bothered me much when I wasn’t listening to Christ. So, this is a good thing! Well, kinda. Youknow? I just know that provision is coming my way. I know that I’m listening and feel certain that I’m where I belong. Boy, it does make you briefly wonder sometimes, even when you know better. That’s why I had to share this post.

Wow, Martha…right on the money. I have been working through a life-changing situation for almost a year now, many times tempted to harden my heart. My challenge is not completed, and I still stumble on the road to staying firm i believing God is leading me somewhere better. I will gladly accept a prayer to keep my strong, to keep me in God’s care and know He is my all.
Gratefully,
chris

I’m with Kimmie. Always invoke God’s Word.
Also, every time I say “get away from me in the name of JESUS” my enemy flees. This never fails, because it, too is scriptural: James 4:7 “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Philippians 2:9-10 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Heaps of blessings,
Len
