AMEN TO THIS AMAZING MESSAGE! “13I can do all things through Christ which strengthenethens me. ” Phil 4:13

Freedomborn

My neighbour knocked on my door at 2.30 am this morning. Can you believe that? 2.30 am ? Fortunately for him I was still up playing my drums!

I was reading Acts 28:1-10 Pauls shipwreck and landing safely on the isle of Melita known as Malta today, a couple of thoughts came to me, I`ll share them and see what you think.

1. Prepare for the Storm before you get into it. In the Stormy summer months, you don’t go out any time and leave the windows open, in Matthew 7:15-29 Jesus talks about a wise man who builds his house on a rock, to prepare for Storms etc. In our spiritual lives it`s no different we need to prepare for life and all the ups and downs it brings. Have we built our spiritual lives on Jesus the Rock and on His Truth and Teaching  ?

Jesus Is My Joy Ministries/Devotions

You Can Do All Things Through Christ

PHILIPPIANS 4:13 NKJ
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

God often makes statements in the Bible that go against what we
feel like, or what it looks like to us at the time.

God is trying to move us to a higher plane of faith where we
depend on Him and not on what we feel like.

Others try to evade the issue by saying that a verse only
applies to someone else — like the Apostle Paul — not to
them.

Well, if you don’t believe, you won’t receive help. But help is
available. And that help and strength is just as available to
you as it was to the Apostle Paul, because the Lord does not
play favorites.

Paul didn’t say, “I can do all things because I am an apostle.”
No, it is “through Christ”…

Devotionals For People Who WANT MORE!

February 29, 2012

Okay, today is decision day.  It is.  I kid you not.

So, what decision . . .

Did I propose to a man?  No, but it’s tempting . . .

Did i win an election?  No, but given who is running, maybe you’d like me to?

So, what decision you ask?

Okay, the decision is that I’m going to write a book of devotionals.  The Lord’s been nudging me and I’ve been giving Him the “I’m listening” but actions speak louder than words, sorry.

I have felt like “I can’t make money doing that . . . ”

None of those editors want someone like me . . .

I can’t self publish . . .

Mainstream publishers aren’t all that interested in Jesus . . .

How can this possibly work?????

Okay, He gave me skills to write, but someone needs to read the manuscript!!!!!!

Know what?  God is God and Martha is Martha.  So, I am going to do this and if He wants y’all to buy one, He’ll take care of it.  Mine will be different.

How different?

For one thing, no dates . . .

that way if it’s 2-29, you’ll have one to read a

nd if you get caught up in life and slack off, no guilt laden reminder when you see that your bookmark is still in mid-February and tomorrow’s March.

If you, like me, have days when you need a little light “kiss” from Jesus to remind you that you can get through the day 0r the morning, or the next 60 minutes, there’ll be a little reflection of Christ and His love in your purse where you can slip to it and find a wee kiss waiting . . .

Yup, that’s it.  I”m doing this . . . and as our dear friend Bob said the other day when he was sharing Wendy’s healing and discovering a call from the Lord in his heart, “If He wants me to do this, I”m not going to let lack of finances and confidence stop me from doing His will.”  Nope, I”m not either, Bob.

So, stay tuned, keep praying for me, and watch for updates . . . and make room on your nightstand!

Leap Day

February 29, 2012

Okay, this post is about another sort of leaping and not about how many days appear on the calendar this month.  The word leap appears many times in the Bible and I was curious to view some of the verses . . . this one caught my eye and tugged at my soul:

For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
2 Samuel 22:29-31

Who among us has not felt surrounded by enemy forces against us or penned in by high walls which keep us from being happy, successful, at peace . . . yet regardless of walls whether real or imagined, and walls often constructed by our own human weakness, He brings us joy and peace and strength.  Our faith in the Lord enables us to not just climb over those walls, but to knock them down.  In Christ we are truly set free!

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Acts 3:7-9

If you do not believe in the healing power of prayer and in miracles, read this and praise God.

Apples Of Gold

I just got back from seeing Wendy.  She loved the bow I made her.  First words out of her mouth were “God! Am I glad to see you!.” She is sooo much better.  The doctor is going to do a heart cath on her this afternoon and have a better look at her heart.  He mentioned something about possibly having to put a defibulator/pacemaker in her.  But other than that, she is going to be ok.  I am praying they send her closer to me for rehab.  Gas is now $3.80 a gallon here! What a time for the rich oil companies to start getting greedy!

I am exhausted for some reason.  Today I really seem to be feeling the fatigue from all the stress and driving.  To top things off, my brake light is on in my car and I just do not have the money right now to…

Abba

February 28, 2012

Sometimes I just need to call out to Abba and He is always there when I do . . . and when I do not.  He knows my every need.  How amazing is that love?

Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

John 14:1
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me

Chosen

February 28, 2012

I needed to feel chosen this morning and here was this post to remind me of Abba’s love.

through Him with Him in Him...

You were chosen…

And your being chosen was in accord with the Heavenly Father’s purpose.

Do you remember a time when you were chosen? How did it feel?

Perhaps for a sports team? Perhaps for a special award? Perhaps you won a raffle or a draw down?

There was a joy…a happiness.

And yet you were chosen by God…by your Heavenly Father!

A purpose dedicated…a purpose approved…a purpose affirmed…yes all by your Heavenly Father.

CHOSEN by your Heavenly Father.

PICKED FOR A PURPOSE by your Heavenly Father.

Let us renew and rest in this truth…in this joy.

“In Him we were also CHOSEN, destined in accord with the purpose of the One who accomplishes all things according to the intention of His will, so that we might exist for the praise of His glory, we who first hoped in Christ.” Eph 1:11-12

The first time that the word language shows up in Scripture is Genesis 10, where we are told that the sons and grandsons of Noah “were separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations” (v. 5). Then in Genesis 11 we encounter this verse, “Now the whole earth used the same language and the same words” (v. 1). This is a striking statement, as it seems that we were just told a few verses earlier that the descendants of Noah were divided up according to their different languages. How can it be that now everyone speaks the same language?

In Hebrew there are two words for language. One word is lashon, which literally means ‘tongue.’ The other word is saphah, which literally means ‘lip.’ If you think about these two parts of the body and their respective roles in…
