Stuck? ~ A Workshop for getting unstuck.

October 30, 2013

Love it!

Another Red Letter Day

Welcome to Another Red Letter Day! Today you have happened upon a workshop for getting un-stuck. Let’s call it the “Freedom Workshop

Let me see a show of hands. Who feels stuck in some area of their life? Oh – I see I am talking to the right people! If you are not feeling stuck that’s OK, stick around (yes – the pun was intentional) and see if this little workshop helps you anyway.

Oh, you want a definition for stuck? Let’s see… OK try these on for starters.

“I know the will of the Lord is for me to be Christ-like, but I see little progress in that direction.”

“There is a sin that I fall into repeatedly, and I confess, I feel sorry, and I go and do it again.”

“My prayer life is kind of ‘meh’”

Ring any bells?

Ok then, let’s get started.

Teaching Children the Lord’s Prayer with printable Prayer Closet booklet

October 27, 2013

Indeed, teaching them to pray is so important! Not memory work, but heart and relationshship!!!!

Christian Resource Ministry

How should we teach our children to pray?lesson 9 prayer closet door

The Lord’s Prayer is the most common example of prayer and provides a guide to our prayer lives. This week’s lesson for our Sunday School class was on prayer. I found a basic outline for the Lord’s Prayer and made a prayer closet for the class based off that.

The Lord’s Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV)

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

The words are familiar but are they meaningful to us? Scripture lacks power when not engrained in our hearts…

Security in the Storms

October 27, 2013

Revelations In Writing

Praise HimIn the midst of the storm,

when wind and waves tossed;

the ship to and fro,

seemed all hope was lost.

Men stood in terror,

of each pounding wave;

exception of one,

faithful Paul, the brave.

Not in his own strength,

but through faith in God;

Who’d sent an angel,

told the path they’d trod.

He had assurance,

what God spoke was true;

Paul said, “Do not fear,

God will see us through.”

Do I rest assured,

when mighty storms rage?

Is my hope secure,

whenever wars wage?

He who can silence,

tumultuous sea;

is the still small voice,

dwelling inside me.

I need never fear,

for He is far more;

loves us through the storms,

rebuilds and restores.

(Responding to Acts 27:13-26)

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You never leave us nor forsake us. Thank You that when we are in the eye of the storm, there You…

Crisis! Crisis! Crisis!

October 24, 2013

So, I stand here tired and stressed and facing the crisis of today and wondering WHAT WILL BE THE CRISIS OF TOMORROW . . .

Problem with this line of thinking?

The Lord already had the solution for today’s crisis YESTERDAY and while I’m running ahead fussing about tomorrow, HE’S HOLDING OUT HIS HANDS TO ME WITH THE SOLUTION I NEED RIGHT NOW.

All I have to do is accept His Gift!
