faith kept and grown

Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin

faith kept and grown
when much else could not
the rains arrived
puddles in the fields
how beautiful
the rich brown earth

This is a poem from a post in April 2013, where I also wrote about reading poems by Jane Kenyon (1947-1995).  She was born in Michigan and died in New Hampshire.  I connected with her poetry, with the images and deep roots of her expression.  She was married to the poet Donald Hall.  There is more information at the Poetry Foundation, where there is a biography page for her.
