Tears are like refreshing rain
Restoring the parched land of the soul
And welcoming new life.

For lots of reasons, I find myself reading most books these days by ereader, yet still I adore old books and stores which feature them! I love the sight, smell and feel of them, but there is something more! I hear the voices of each soul who held, read, and loved the book before me. Old books, old friends!
The tattered pages
Speak of those who’ve gone before
Can you hear the whispers?

If the rose
Knew only its thorns
Would it still be sweet?

Stormy days . . .
There have been many.
I hunger for the sun,
Yet see only clouds.
I seek rest,
Yet the whistling of the wind
And drumbeats of the rain
Form an angry orchestra against my window
And become all I hear
Until . . .
I find strength to rise
And hear the sweet sound
Of birds singing in the storm!
Loud and clear,
Sweet and triumphant!
If such tiny birds can still find
a song in their hearts to share,
then so can I!

He often lovingly whispers, but this time He called out victoriously to my soul and this is His message as I know it to be!
SHINE
Get up and dance!
Do you not hear the glad sound?
Have you not seen the sun?
Is the splendor of this day lost to you?
Place your feet on the floor!
Lift your hands!
As the trumpet sounds
Sail across the floor in harmony with me!
Dance, clap, sing, share!
I am yours!
You are mine!
Is this not cause to celebrate?
SHINE!

Lord, you offer us
a foretaste of heaven
as we stumble through this world.
Let us taste its sweetness today
as we walk
side by side with you. –Martha L Shaw
Faith does not mean doubt will not whisper in our ear. It means we will press on and not be stopped by it. – Martha L Shaw
