It’s All In How You View It

Did you miss it?

The GRATITUDE Life

“People are not disturbed by things, but by the view they take of them.” – Epictetus

Consider what your life might be like if you changed your perspective. Getting a different point of view can make life tolerable, even interesting, like the colorful shades of a sunset.

My friends and I visited Newport Beach beach last week. While we were watching and photographing the sunset, a young lady rushed up to the beach with her camera just after the sun disappeared into the ocean. “Oh, darn I missed it,” she moaned, as she walked away disappointed.

The woman’s point of view was that the sunset was all about seeing the orb of the sun disappear behind the horizon. My friends and I knew to wait and see what magic awaits after sundown.

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Monetizing Your Blog: Four Ideas to Consider

September 29, 2016

The Daily Post

Blogging consistently and building an audience can be hard, time-consuming work, so it’s no surprise that many people would like to see a return on their efforts. While monetizing your site is almost never easy, it doesn’t have to be a mystery, either.

Here are four ways to earn money from your site that have worked well on WordPress.com blogs and websites.

WordAds

Impressions is the measurement of how often an ad has displayed for a visitor on your site.

If you’ve been interested in running ads on your site, you may have heard about programs like AdSense, Chitika, or Infolinks. These can be useful to sites with a general focus, but they rely on millions of impressions to be profitable. They can be difficult to configure, and the software that powers them often slows your site down.

Trust Drives Us To Praise

September 29, 2016

Daily Manna

girl-dancing-rainIf we truly trust in God it will drive us to praise God, in the storms and out of the storms. Whether you are going through something or coming out of something! We are always going to go through something, come out of something, or are about to go through something. So praise God, praise the name of Jesus! There is something about praise, that not only drives God to come thru for us but He does something inside of us when we bring praise to His name, that brings us closer to the heart of God. So praise His Holy Name. When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they didn’t worry or stress out, they prayed and praised God.

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison…

HUNGRY FOR MORE THAN BREAD?

September 28, 2016

Daily Bread . . .

cuban bread

The Scent of Distraction

“There’s nothing I can do . . . “

Counting out cups of flour.

“How can I fix this mess I’m in . . . “

Measuring the salt,

Adding sugar.

“I’ve got nothing left . . . “

Sprinkling the yeast.

“It’s hopeless . . . “

Pounding the dough.

“I’m tired of feeling so . . . “

Noticing the scent filling the room.

“When will I ever . . . “

Absently placing the luscious loaves

On the counter.

“Hmmm . . .

Maybe a small slice . . .”

A little bit of butter  . . .

“Here, have one.  I made extra.”

Smiles.

Bread for today

He has plans for tomorrow . . .

“now, where was I?”

Off track

but now thankful!
