RELATIONSHIP LESSON FROM MY DOG

My sweet little Beany is sure that I’d be quite a mess without his care and truly this might be the case.  He rarely allows me to spend time in the office unsupervised!  I got off to a slow start due to other commitments and just as I fired up my computer he came over to me, gave me a kiss, and went to his favorite nap spot.  It made me smile and feel loved.

I wonder. . . . . life has been full of challenges I can’t solve alone, so I have pepered the Lord with prayer.  I wonder when was the last time I just reminded Him I loved Him?

SURRENDERING AGAIN

Is it just me, or is the quiet of the middle of the night a challenge to faith? As I lay in my quiet room,as usual only my neighbor’s dog and I were awake.  He wanted back into the house and I wanted the weight of the world solved and lifted from my shoulders.  Would I ever have have enough money . . . strength.. . friends . . . so many worries .. . then the usual reminder brought rest.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

CARE FOR THE WOUNDED SPIRIT

Life gets crazy at times.  We all know.I am in one of those seasons with many challenges all at once and a hurricne coming to town did NOT increase my faith, bring me more peace of mind, nor inspire restful sleep. . .until. . .

 

I hunger for quiet rest.

My strength fails me,

my courage weakened,

I cry out to you

and hear only pounding wind

and pouring rain.

Fear grips my soul as I wonder

what more do I have to lose?

Then over the menacing storm I hear them . . .

birds singing in the tree in my yard.
