I am so sorry Martha, it’s always heart breaking to lose a family member. May you remember the beautiful days with your little one and that in time it brings a smile. Peace and sending healing heart thoughts.

Martha, I empathize with you over Beany. We had our Goldie, a retired racing greyhound, for 12 of her 14 years of life and she gave us so much more than we could ever have given her. We missed her and grieved for about 6 months when we saw a little MinPin at the animal shelter … so much different than Goldie, but the same love emanating from her eyes. So we adopted her and 4 months later adopted Snickers, another MinPin from the shelter. We often tell our “girls” about Goldie. Remember Beany and the special times together, then reach out and realize a new love, not the same but just as strong, with another canine child. God gives us these animal friends as a gift that is truly special.
