God’s LOVE IS BIGGER THAN CANCER
I wonder how many poems
the trees have given to me
as I pray the Psalms
and read poems by poets
written over so much time
that passes too soon
clouds with some blue
outside my study window
some days God seems so clear
other days I must dwell more deeply
in my reading of the Psalms
praying the Psalms . . .
other times and places
cross my mind
and I am blessed
by God’s love
and care
once again
Thy statutes have been my songs
in the house of my pilgrimage.
Psalm 119: 54 (KJV)

AND SO MY SOUL
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again
As the sun spills
Over flowers
And the neighborhood
Sleeps
Endurance is eloquent
And marigolds are
Admirable because
They bloom
So long
Oh, my heart
Is tender
Yet God keeps it
Strong
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again

Why is the shepherd running ahead?
Does He not care?
Where are my caring friends?
Again,
nobody wants me!
“My child.
I Am ahead of you preparing the way!”
They quietly discussed His purpose,
though the child wondered.
Hearing and seeing many behind the two,
she asked the Lord
“What are they doing?”
“My child, they are fasting while providing prayer support!”
She knelt at His feet.
