UNRAVELLED

 

 

We begin life finely knit together,

One to another,

No labels,

Many colors,

Plump or delicate,

Uniquely different yet all the same

In likeness to Him.

Sadly,

We mature and our eyes,

Those human orbs,

Deny the truth held in our hearts.

Sitting At Your Feet

My thoughts just drifted back to my childhood and to how much I loved sitting on the floor at Nana’s feet, feeling unconditional love and listening to her stories, memories, advice, and so much more.  Time was meaningless as I knew such love and acceptance and encouragement and lost all sense of time.

How fitting to immediately find this before me! “Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”  – Jeremiah 33:2-3

 

Can I have an

AMEN?

 

 

 

 

HE DID NOT CREATE US WITH LABELS

Unlabeled

The happy little dandelion

growing in the field

smiled toward heaven

all the while.

No one ever said

“you’re just a weed”

so he had no doubt

that he was loved.

Perhaps

there is a lesson

here for me?

Before we judge and

close our doors and hearts to one another,

our church buildings would be empty of any but

our Triune God

were it not for

we sinners present!

BY FAITH ALONE

Despite their fragility,

in body and on branch,

the birds sang on

in delicate harmony.

Thunder and lightening,

driving wind and rain

did not change their spirit!

IMAGE IS EVERYTHING!

IT IS A REALLY BIG DEAL!

Acceptance

All too often I find this word to be avoided, to be considered negative, to be considered “here comes trouble!”  My response to this truth was “here comes another positive word gone NEGATIVE, what a pity!”

I looked acceptance up in the dictionary and found that a primary defining word was “favor.”  WOW!

The following blessing has been bestowed upon me many times, and I quote it from the BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER:

“The Lord bless you and keep you.

The Lord’s face shine on you with grace and mercy.

The Lord look upon you with favor

and give you peace. AMEN“

My friends, acceptance is a REALLY BIG DEAL and I am sorry to say we as a culture are not very good at it.  We need to do better!

 

 

 

 

 

 

ARE YOU A CARROT OR A PEA?

Grocery shopping can be vexing.  

In order to obtain what we need, to meet health restructions, etc., we must read every label, hope for full and clear disclosure, yet still discover we have not seen enough to judge.

WHY then, knowing only God can know a human heart, do we persist in placing a label on one another?
