Life is full of strife . . . kinda like doing three years of exhausting ministry, loving the unlovable, healing the untouchable, and more . . . and that was on a good day . . . all the while knowing you would be violently killed. Did this knowledge reflect from Jesus’ countenance?
We need to know and reflect . . . and EXPECT great things from Him in us because He promises “greater things than these” and He never fails to on His promises. Like the peasant girl who said:
And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name.” Luke 1:46-47, 49

Do you ever feel totally “less” and frustrated? Seriously, are you often struggling with feeling:
- Less pretty
- Less successful
- Less wealthy
- Less popular
Less, less, less . . . makes us sad sometimes, doesn’t it? I know it does for me, and the big one . . . less loved. Think about it though.
“When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.’”” Matthew 2:4-6
How full of hope is this? Born among dung, from a peasant girl, the wrong part of town . . . and then when He set out in ministry, whom did He chose for His friends, His team mates, His interns, His most trusted and closest followers of the day? People like me! The ones who were clearly less!
The old cliché says less is more – suddenly it seems as though it really is! I believe the sun is setting on the old life and a new day is dawning, don’t you?

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” John 11:25

This verse is so comforting. It answers all the questions and doubts that try to edge in . . . rest in this:
““I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15

“[The Validity of Jesus’ Testimony] When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:1-2, 14
What a wonderful kiss from the Lord this Bible quote is for me . . . and especially today as I prepare to attend a quiet day at church with clergy led meditations to help us prepare for His coming!
