Prayerful Thoughts Over Morning Coffee

Do you ever have trouble sleeping?  I sometimes do.  I never did as a child.  If I close my eyes right now, by day, I can still recall the soft murmuring of Mama and Daddy talking in the other room.  I didn’t always understand what they were saying, but I felt safe and loved and knew everything would be okay and felt their comforting nearness as I drifted off to sleep.   I am not that innocent little girl anymore but whether I am feeling alone or not, my Abba is always near and loving me too!  All I need to do is let go, let Him take care of me, and rest knowing He will never abandon me . . . just like my earthly parents never did. Amen

GOD’S HELPER

I do not really have much of any real family – the blood kind, but still I am blessed with dear friends and treasured memories-especially of my Dad.  He would call himself “just a country boy” but to me he was so much more.  He didn’t have fancy degrees or expensive cars.  A trip, when I was little, was to go to the barber shop with him- they gave me lollipops!  A really big deal was Sunday!  Daddy loved church. He wasn’t a preacher.  He just quietly served like nobody else I have ever known!  He never met anyone who was not a friend and if anyone was in trouble, stranger or not – naughty or nice – he was there to help.  He never spoke of it, never bragged – he loved as Jesus loved.  I want to be just  like him and like Him!

waves of blessings at high tide

You showed me the way

A LITANY OF THANKS

For the Light costumed by darkness,

I thank you, Lord.

For the beauty I know but cannot see,

I thank you, Lord.

For the music I cannot hear yet still I dance

And thank you, Lord.

For your secret healing of my every need,

I thank you, Lord.

For living in this broken human’s heart,

I thank you, Lord.

For using me anyway,

All my love and thanks and praise to you.
