Rock On – Compassion Redefined!

How do you define compassionate living?  It just may be broader

than you have considered . . .

Our sense of community

and compassionate intelligence must be extended to all life forms, plants, animals, rocks, rivers, and human beings. This is the story of our past and it will be

the story of our future.

De Colores – A Tanka Poem

Life in black and white.

Weeds grow in Eden’s Garden.

Original sin.

God’s compassion . . . Jesus Christ.

Garden blooms, living color!

A bone to the dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog, when you are just as hungry as the dog.– -Jack London- –

COMPASSION

Change The World? It’s Simple . . .

December 16, 2012

Our priest told a great sermon today.  God wants to give us the best.  We need empty hands and we don’t always leap eagerly to relinquishing our hold on our stuff in order for Him to be able to give us what more and better He has.  “It’s simple.”  God will help us . . . we can turn to Him with our fears . . . change . . . it is  scary sometimes, but oh, when we let Him work through us and fill us with His grace . . . we can.  Favorite quote from the sermon?  “Even an acorn can find a way to roll down the street.”  As I read the following quote, the changes God can help us with . . .  the “yes, but what can I do” and the “my small effort . . . will it really matter?”  Those thoughts all came together with a resounding Yes I can make a difference!

I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same. People will never know how far a little kindness can go. – Rachel Joy Scott –

Let’s do this, shall we?  Not just for ourselves. . . let’s do it for the children!

A Tuesday Quote On Compassion

October 23, 2012

Have compassion for everyone you meet, even if they don’t want it. What appears bad manners, an ill temper or cynicism is always a sign of things no ears have heard, no eyes have seen. You do not know what wars are going on down there where the spirit meets the bone. – Miller Williams –
