NAILS – An Acrostic

March 13, 2019

Never had a tree so touched my heart.

Acorns, bark, leaves to rake.

It was so ordinary, almost invisible.

Lent’s reminder of my Savior’s love – His blood. . .

Somehow the tree wasn’t just a tree anymore.

GIFT OF A LIFETIME!

March 27, 2018

WERE YOU THERE TOO?

nailed

I can STILL hear His footsteps as He dragged the heavy, rough cross along a seemingly  endless path . . . sweat and blood dripping . . .  knowing what was to come . . .and He did it for me.

The Onlooker

April 4, 2015

On my morning walk to the well

I saw blood stains on the dry road.

Why?

I didn’t really know Him

yet still my heart is breaking.

I continue on to get my water

wondering

what will happen next?

His Mother’s Tears

April 3, 2015

Through the blur of my tears

I look at the stone.

Knowing it was time,

Knowing it had to be,

Knowing you live forever in my heart,

Still,

What I would not give

To hold your hand

Just one more time.

My sweet baby boy

And King.

The Sad Days

April 3, 2015

The candles were snuffed out and put away.

The table is bare . . .

the room dark and empty and quiet

but for the silent echo of remembered tears,

but my mouth waters for the promised feast.
