YOU WERE CREATED WITH A PURPOSE

June 29, 2018

We trampled on the dandylions,

wishing they were gone!

Then, someone saw them anew . . .

HE DID NOT CREATE US WITH LABELS

June 29, 2018

Unlabeled

The happy little dandelion

growing in the field

smiled toward heaven

all the while.

No one ever said

“you’re just a weed”

so he had no doubt

that he was loved.

Perhaps

there is a lesson

here for me?

WE ARE BORN WITH OPEN MINDS  AND LOVING HEARTS.

LET’S REMEMBER HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS!

GOD’S HELPER

June 24, 2018

I do not really have much of any real family – the blood kind, but still I am blessed with dear friends and treasured memories-especially of my Dad.  He would call himself “just a country boy” but to me he was so much more.  He didn’t have fancy degrees or expensive cars.  A trip, when I was little, was to go to the barber shop with him- they gave me lollipops!  A really big deal was Sunday!  Daddy loved church. He wasn’t a preacher.  He just quietly served like nobody else I have ever known!  He never met anyone who was not a friend and if anyone was in trouble, stranger or not – naughty or nice – he was there to help.  He never spoke of it, never bragged – he loved as Jesus loved.  I want to be just  like him and like Him!

The Ballad of Unity

Dedicated to Mother Emanual A.M.E. Church

When I stand alone

I cannot hear the music

but when instead I hold your hand

the lyrical voices of freedom, hope, love and peace

make my heart soar!

HOW TO MAKE A BAD DAY GOOD

June 2, 2018

FIND A REASON TO REJOICE TODAY!

happiness-index-800x445.jpg

NOT AS HARD AS YOU THINK!

I get stressed, especially when I multitask and demand too much from myself!  The Lord doesn’t give us more than we can handle – we do!

  • Take a praise break!   Can’t thiink of anything good about your day?
  • relax your muscles
  • breath deeply
  • close your eyes
  • say “Lord, thanks for loving me!”
  • repeat until chest tightness relaxes
  • REJOICE!

Doppelgänger? Eeeeek!

May 26, 2018

I am a northeast girl living in the south and it has taught me much!  I never met a Doppelgänger (that I know of) but moving here introduced me to lots of large and small scary looking potential ganger types anxious to make my acquaintence!

HELP!

ARE THESE Doppelgängers ?

DO THEY CONSIDER ME DINNER?

May 25, 2018

Christians, as well as any other “religious” groups I have heard of, are raised with clear values ESPECIALLY love!

HOW TRAGIC IT IS that our news broadcasts, paper and electronic communication seems CLEARLY to alert us that love has become ARCHAIC!

LET’S WORK TOGETHER AND SAVE LOVE FROM EXTINCTION!

You Choose!

March 26, 2018

IN THIS LIFE . . .

Are we on a quest to DO what is right,

or to always BE right?

These two are rarely synonymous

and one is HOPELESSLY inefficient!

FEELING THE LOVE . . .

December 12, 2017

The old quilt . . .

Its softness is enhanced

By age and use.

Its colors faded by the light of many days,

And its fibers show wear

Yet its beauty is all I see,

All I feel,

And all I know.

Its story is one of patience

And of time and effort.

It  contains both pain and pleasure.

The fabrics of many lives intertwined

To become one . . .

It is not one story,

But rather generations of stories

Shared by the fire,

Told over tea,

Revealed as fine thread

Wove scraps of many lives

Into something too beautiful not to share.

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

August 30, 2017

Tiny feet

Scampering about,

Carry a wee one

Full of promise!

From such as this

Once was born

A Savior!
