But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22 NIV

It is pouring rain.
Here I sit in hope not felt
Yet I still believe.
I have not placed my fingers
In the holes . . . yet He filled mine.

Never had a tree so touched my heart.
Acorns, bark, leaves to rake.
It was so ordinary, almost invisible.
Lent’s reminder of my Savior’s love – His blood. . .
Somehow the tree wasn’t just a tree anymore.

WERE YOU THERE TOO?

I can STILL hear His footsteps as He dragged the heavy, rough cross along a seemingly endless path . . . sweat and blood dripping . . . knowing what was to come . . .and He did it for me.

They gave Him bitter wine to drink
and He took it
so that we might have
that which was sweet.

A HAIKU ON FORGIVENESS
The clouds break apart
dampened grass between my toes
Ah, new beginnings

I wanted to give the right gift,
the perfect one.
I had little money
and few skills.
IT NEEDED TO BE PERFECT!
I grew more and more disappointed.
Eventually,
with tears in my eyes
and empty hands,
I threw myself to the ground
and cried out
“I love you!”
He was pleased.

The REAL Joy
I enjoy the applause.
Admiration is nice for a time
but,
my lasting joy
is reflecting the Lord in all I AM and do.
I am nothing without His love.
