REBORN AND REFRESHED

May 16, 2017

Like The Garden Grows

Too often I focus on the fallen leaves

Scattered on my weed covered bit of earth.

Signs of death and decay?

Perhaps, and yet . .  .

A rake,

A hoe,

A change of focus,

And new buds and blossoms appear .  . .

Or perhaps they lay in wait all along.

Beyond the shadows shines the blazing sun!

I EXPECT SO!

Pray with expectation!

He loves us!

He ALWAYS answers!

Qavah

November 8, 2013

I embarked along the path

I was directed to take.

Assuming it would be short . . . .

Assuming clear weather . . .

Assuming a warm climate . . .

But these were brief and fleeting at best.

The path was mostly unpaved,

Slippery and full of fallen trees.

I stumbled and skinned my knees.

I was cold.

The only sound I heard was my own breathing

And the call of wild beasts of prey!

Oh, when would I . . .

No!

Ouch!

Why?

Will I ever?

At some point I turned around a bend

And there it was!

My destination,

For a time anyway,

Had been reached!

I sighed at the glow of the sun

And felt its rays.

I wonder . . .

Could it have been there all along

Waiting for me to look up?

Quote of the Day Sunday – Expect Great Things

December 16, 2012

Life is full of strife . . . kinda like doing three years of exhausting ministry, loving the unlovable, healing the untouchable, and more . . . and that was on a good day . . . all the while knowing you would be violently killed.  Did this knowledge reflect from Jesus’ countenance?

We need to know and reflect . . . and EXPECT great things from Him in us because He promises “greater things than these” and He never fails to on His promises.  Like the peasant girl who said:

And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name.” Luke 1:46-47, 49

Awakening Quote of the Day For Wednesday

November 28, 2012

We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aids, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn.  – Henry David Thoreau –

I keep learning anew why I love Thoreau!  This quote awakened my soul this morning in so many ways.  The Lord speaks to me through nature, through poetry, through things that have always been there but which I had never noticed before He awakened me to something new and gave me the courage to pursue it!
