My residence – so disappointing,
there was nothing I could do.
I was ready to give up
but then my Father spoke to me.
He started with the woodwork,
old ceilings to bad floors.
He renovated tattered walls
and then the windows had to go!
He worked hard day and night . . .
took up residence right there.
Instead of leaving in the night,
His love did me repair.
I learned so very much from Him!
Soon everything was new!
I want to be so much like Him,
giving blessings in His name!

My Mom and Dad both helped me reno my house and me! The most important task they did was lead me to my Lord and my God!- ML Shaw
Tapers on the sofa table
Gently lit the room
For it was night.
While mother slept,
Father and I enjoyed the gentle candle light
And stories from another time and place.
We needed no warmth
From those candles, though.
That came from father’s heart.
He knew I’d be waiing.
I knew he’d come.
Sleep didn’t come easily to him.
We spent hours together
He shared so many stories
Oa life as a boy,family,the farm…
Tales of many generations
Retold in the gently lit room
Well into the night.
Tears come as I share this
But not of sadness,
All of joy!
As we retired for the night,
I waited for his sounds of sleep
Before taking to my bed.
He is gone now,
But my memories still bring
Love, peace, and rest!

I can remember Daddy holding me close in his arms and feeling happy, loved, and safe. I remember a little girl I loved to pieces (and still do even if she’s grown up) who loved to be with me and snuggle close. God feels that way too. He wants me to bring ALL of me to Him and to snuggle close, not just to cry out when I’m scared or lost.
As a child my earthly father was always there loving me and when I cried out, he came quickly. Now I am grown but my needs have grown as well so I often need to call out to Abba and He is always there when I do . . . and when I do not. He knows my every need.
How amazing is that love?
Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.
John 14:1
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me
In John 6 we read that Jesus said “no one can come to me unless the Father draws him” and at first glance this can be startling. Perhaps it never startled you, but it did me. However, after meditating on it and just being with Him, I came to find that words which sounded as though they were excluding were actually giving me life, ETERNAL life!
We are perhaps, at this moment (well, I am) singing a familiar song in our hearts. This song brings tears to my eyes and sends my heart and soul soaring! For, you see, we were drawn in. We love Him because He first loved us! How amazing is it that with all my flaws and constant mistakes . . . my hurts, my weakness, my stumbling, He chose me for His own? Life is amazing not because I got it right, but because He transforms it, transforms me, and most of all draws me close and loves me!
Jesus was all about compassion. We must be the same if we truly desire to be like Him and win hearts for the Kingdom!
