preceding afternoon storms

hope and peace – still mine

Branch Out!

June 11, 2019

If a tree were to resist

shedding her colorful autumn leaves,

when would come spring?

When would come summer?

If we resist change

we cannot question why

we do not grow.

Do not choose death – choose life!

FOREVER HEARTS

January 15, 2019

For Bobby and  Kim

A smile,

A kind word,

Soon becomes a hug and kiss.

Rain and sun . . .

Love planted by the Mighty Gardener

Grows into such beauty.

Forever comes so quickly

To the one who is left behind.

But no, sweet one!

It lasts for eternity.

Broken hearts become stronger

For being such giving hearts . . .

For ”Giving Hearts”know no limits!

Dry leaves falling fast

Prepare a place for new birth

Beauty all its own

Leaving ablaze with color

Then a time of rest and growth

RISE OR FALL

September 6, 2018

Would I ever smile

if the leaves were only green?

Would I feel the sun?

Without changes, can we grow?

God created all things well!

LOOKING BEYOND . . .

May 8, 2018

Too often I focus on the fallen leaves

Scattered on my weed covered bit of earth.

Signs of death and decay?

Perhaps, and yet . .  .

A rake,

A hoe,

A change of focus,

And new buds and blossoms appear .  . .

Or perhaps they lay in wait all along.

Beyond the shadows shines the blazing sun!

BROKEN YET BLESSED

November 6, 2017

A broken dish

having fallen to its demise

was never to hold treasure again.

Not so,

the pieces of my broken heart,

held in His hands

mended

healed

expanded

returned to me

with His grace.
