We are asked, no instructed, to love our neighbors and as holidays approach this becomes extra important for we are surrounded by lonely and physically challenged folks. We know we can help, but shy away saying “I can’t . . . because . . . “insert lame reason (excuse) here ______.
Reaching out a hand, extending a greeting, opening a heart takes so little and means so much. The Lord will rejoice in YOU and show you the way. You only need to be willing!
The gift of joy will change YOUR life!
Is freedom REALLY getting my own way? Hmmm . . . I believe it is actually experienced in my surrender to the Lord and thus the peace which comes from the absolute knowing of the depth of His love for me. Amazing, the freedom in that.
When my new sweater didn’t fit properly, I was quick to return it for the right one. When the new gallon of milk didn’t smell fresh, I quickly brought it back for another. It never occurred to me in either case to decide that, though not as they should be, they were good enough. Why then do I accept a life that is only “good enough” when it doesn’t fit? Why do I settle for okay?
IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE
We were created for greatness. We were made in the image of God. Greatness is in our DNA. As we begin Advent and a new year and with it another new opportunity to regroup, to reevaluate, and to re-create ourselves, let’s look beyond society’s expectations and limitations. Let’s turn inward. Let’s look to our hearts, our souls, and our dreams. Don’t settle. You were made for MUCH MORE than that. Be truly realistic! Our God is AMAZING and through Him we can be as well!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thanksgiving . . .
How can I find sufficient time in only one day
And thank you, Lord, for all your blessings?
Not even a lifetime would be enough.
Kingdom bound and beloved daughter, me?
Simply takes my breath away!

Hope
Like the peppermint stick
Has elements which startle the senses.
When all in my midst is flat,
Is dull,
Is flavorless . . .
Suddenly,
Life holds all it did before,
Yet there is also something new.
Something at once pungent and sweet
Has reached my senses.
I inhale its fragrance,
I taste its sweetness,
I hunger for more
Knowing more is there for me,
And perhaps has been all along
Yet I somehow failed to notice
Until now.
