. . .AND HE CALMED THE STORM

September 17, 2018

HURRICANE FLORENCE

Ah, that moment when all the troubles of the world slip away holding no importance. The storm brewing, the money worries, the health challenges, the what ifs the how will I evers …..mean nothing.

SCRAPPY

To my right snuggled up close and feeling safe is a doggy that calls me mama who is no longer afraid of the storm or the big dog on my left… all she thinks about is that she is safe and  sleeps on with her head snuggled on my right leg. On my left is another dog that calls me auntie, who has also been afraid of my Scrappy until that moment and is snuggled with her head on my lap and sleeping…. And I am feeling safe and peaceful and surrounded by love and fully aware that nothing else in the world matters!

CARE FOR THE WOUNDED SPIRIT

September 12, 2017

Life gets crazy at times.  We all know.I am in one of those seasons with many challenges all at once and a hurricne coming to town did NOT increase my faith, bring me more peace of mind, nor inspire restful sleep. . .until. . .

I hunger for quiet rest.

My strength fails me,

my courage weakened,

I cry out to you

and hear only pounding wind

and pouring rain.

Fear grips my soul as I wonder

what more do I have to lose?

Then over the menacing storm I hear them . . .

birds singing in the tree in my yard.

As always, you are here!

I amloved.

HURRICANE HIT

October 18, 2016

Greetings friends!

I apologize  for my sudden, temporary, departure!  My area fell victim to the recent hurricane Matthew and my home suffered damage significant enough to cause extra prayers for the Lord to provide the means to obtain the needed repairs as my budget cannot.  I evacuated, so I personally was unharmed.

Life is crazy just now, but my pen and keyboard will be back in the forefront of my world soon!  Thanks for your concern and prayers!

Again, my sweet doggy and I were not injured!

Perfect Peace!

August 27, 2011

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

As we face Hurricane Irene this weekend, and other great challenges in life, I offer this verse to remind all of us of the source of all strength and peace.

Reading this verse reminded me of an old favorite praise song.  I found a beautiful version of this which is not the contemporary one I recall, but which is quite lovely and which I share with you here:
