STAND AGAINST SAVAGE BEHAVIOR!

July 1, 2019

We live in a world where savage behavior is considered cool and songs, books, movies, Ebooks, posters, plays, and more make the message clear and the performers wealthy for displaying acts of savagery while acts of kindness have ACTUALLY been known to inspire it!  KIND FOLKS ARE FREQUENT VICTIMS!

THIS MUST CHANGE!  LET’S BEGIN TODAY!

WORLD PEACE BEGINS WITH YOU!  SHARE THIS MESSAGE!

Think Again!

Weight, measure, value . . . simple concepts?  Not really!

When I was very young, my dad offered me a dollar at the fair.  I was disappointed.  I heard coins jingling in his pocket!  Why would I want a piece of paper, I thought, coins were heavier so that must be more . . and better!  Silly little me!  Not always!  How do we decide value throughout our daily lives?

What do you value the most?   Being an adult, I know 25 pennies weigh more than a dollar but have less  value, but this doesn’t mean I always get the right answer when I answer the question just posed here.

  • The old  lady across the street is looking bone weary as she rakes her leaves.  Mine are done so I can relax and read a book.  Value?
  • Sunday morning after a tiring week.  I don’t need to get up for church.  Value?
  • The 4 year old is crying  but my] show goes off in 15 minutes.  Probably nothing, she can wait.  Value?

WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST?  The answer lies in your HEART!

PLANK YOU VERY MUCH!

==“Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s[a] eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor,[b] ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s[c] eye. Matthew 7:1-5

faithful

The headlines report someone rich or famous having made a mistake and social media goes crazy!  “I never liked her! ”  or perhaps “He thought he was better than us!” then we shake our heads “He got his!”

STOP!

SUCH COWARDICE!  Can we truly deny a bit of envy in our hearts for the success of others?  How about our own closets?  Cleaned them out recently?  Perhaps the not so secret joy we show in the failure of others shows a lack of love for our neighbors?  Time to do our own house cleaning and while we do this, we can pray for our neighbors!

WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR?

25 Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus.[a] “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?” 27 He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”28 And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.”

29 But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” 30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii,[b] gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.’ 36 Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” 37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”  luke 10:25-37
