Mom, dressed for her first date with Dad!
When someone so close to us and whom we love so much is near the end, we feel their pain as they age and we would do whatever we could to see the Mom (or other loved one) as we remember them . . . even one more time. This week marks another anniversary of her passing. She felt no pain in passing while asleep and just didn’t awaken this side of heaven. She died holding hands with Jesus with a big smile on her face, just like my Grampy did. If your morning quiet place seems to have a larger angel choir, that’s Mom. No matter how many things she could no longer do toward the end, she was always singing and I am sure she still is! Likely, the angels in your life are singing with her!
The last thing she and I said to each other was to smile and say “I love you!” it was a sunny spring afternoon and the birds were singing!

My recent total hip replacement surgery was a success and in a few months, God willing, the other will do likewise! The Lord showered me with His presence and love the entire time!
I continued writing while in hospital, but low tech – PEN AND NOTEBOOK! Be blessed!

THE LORD GOD MADE THEM ALL . . .

Love this challenge! Getting lost in the details means, to me, an invitation to slow down a bit and appreciate God’s creation at a deeper level than I normally would in this rush and hurry world.

Hope of Spring
Still chilled from the long hard winter,
Fluttered just a bit
At the sight of
A simple, tiny flower
Poking its pretty face
Above the cold ground
By the rocks and trees
In the woods nearby.
I realize the coldness in my heart,
Like the snow,
Has begun to melt.

I stepped forward into those welcoming arms and my life was never the same again. My Jesus . . . yet not mine alone! Do you know Him? He’s waiting to be invited into your heart and has so much love for you. May I introduce you?

If I have hope and purpose, I have everything . . .
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

This cost me just a dollar or at the most two, yet it is worth more to me than money. It represents everything Jesus came to do and everything He did . . . for me. When I hold it in my hand, the entire circular base of the basket depicts all of the characters in the Bible story we heard a day or two ago. The scented dried florals in it remind me of both the gifts brought to Him at Epiphany and the perfume later used to wash His feet. The handle looks, to me, like a crown of thorns which, we know all too well, was later placed on His head as He was mocked and killed for each one of us. They say a baby changes everything . . . this one did.
