I stepped into my quiet place,

My favorite retreat.

The leaves still whispered in the breeze.

The birds still sang softly in the trees.

I gaze up at the blue sky,

enjoying their music.

My soul rejoices.

For this is not a place for silence.

It is the place where my soul

Can truly hear!

The Quiet Place – A Poem

December 1, 2012

Sitting alone in a quiet place

Where love and loved ones

Have come and gone and will return again

Is never really quiet

And I am never really alone

In this place.

My senses always see and hear,

And that love lingers

Like a memory of the scent

Of the flowers of yesterday . . .

Six Word Saturday – About Love

When you have nothing to say, it does not matter how many syllables you use.

Monday Bible Verse

June 11, 2012

““Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Psalm 46:10 NIV1984

When I am truly still I ALWAYS hear the Lord speak to me.  Sometime in the sounds of birds singing, puppies scampering about, children at play . . . sometimes my spirit hears Him say “I am with you always and I love you.”

God’s Loving Whispers

February 14, 2012

Let us be silent, that we may hear the whispers of the gods.
Henry David Thoreau

I know only one God, but Thoreau is otherwise correct.  He wants a relationship with me and He will speak to me and does speak to me, but He whispers His love to me in my quiet time with Him.  He wants to be in relationship with His children and loves our quiet time with Him.  Just today I felt His presence while I was at my desk writing.  It was as though a lover came to me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders and nudged me to put my work aside and come be with him.  That is exactly what it was.  It was the lover of my soul desiring my undivided attention.  I eagerly said yes.
