Among Weeds and Thorns

January 10, 2018

Digital Camera

When the garden is filled with weeds

Yet one stubborn flower

Finds the strength to grow,

Am I to frown

Because it is the only one?

Is it not a very welcomed blessing?

Surely its beauty

Nourishes my hungry soul

Giving me the strength

To tackle the overgrowth

Of opposition

Not unlike the single

Blooming rose

Basking in the midst

Of thorns;

Of a coming new season!

I came to realize that I was lost where I had always been.

  In relocating, I found myself . . .

Were it not

for the decay of yesterday

how would come

the redemption?

Walking In Faith and Fear

Walking In Faith and Fear.

The Wake

March 20, 2014

The house is in stillness

laying in wait for the chaos

Yet to come.

I sip,

I breathe,

I wait.

I hear you sing.

I feel your gentle embrace.

I know your love.

Miracles – A Poem of Rebirth

December 30, 2012

you take the darkness of night

and through your might alone

you dispel it

for each morn

brings with it

the miracle of birth

and the opportunity to begin anew!

Breathing Deeper

November 15, 2012

Like the peppermint stick

Has elements which startle the senses.

When all in my midst is flat,

Is dull,

Is flavorless . . .

Life holds all it did before,

Yet there is also something new.

Something at once pungent and sweet

Has reached my senses.

I inhale its fragrance,

I taste its sweetness,

I hunger for more

Knowing more is there for me,

And perhaps has been all along

Yet I somehow failed to notice

Until now.
