LIKE THE MOTHER BIRD

Just as a mother bird broods 

to protect her young . . .

giving them warmth,

safety,

covered with her love,

and when the time comes

sets them free

to do as they were created to do . . .

so, too, does our Creator God

love and protect us

in the shelter of His wings.

We may not see Him,

but His love, power, and grace

are with us always.

Rebirth

The puddles are still near

though the flood waters have receded.

Yet, I am blissfully unaware.

The splendor of your love

so shines in my heart

that I am blinded to all else.

The storm has passed

REALITY CHECK

As followers of Christ and in our commitment to Him and to our personal relationship with Him we are called to be His vessel.  We “know” what a vessel is . . . or we think we do.  Have you ever looked up the definition?  I just did.  Not sure why, but as soon as I saw what the definition stated I became convinced the Lord called me to seek this information and to share it.

A vessel is a utensil that is used.  It is also an airship.  INTERESTING.  Consider . . . as a utensil it serves the one who carries it.  The burden is in the hand holding it. We need to remember as well the second part of the definition for that word as we ponder our commission as Christ followers.  A vessel is also an airship.  As such, it SOARS! 

Wow.  I am loving being a vessel now that He’s shown me these words.  Rest in His hands and soar!

Good Morning Tuesday Bible Verse!

Well Good Morning!  The Lord is speaking His love to me in so many ways and He seems especially to be revealing the freedom which comes from forgiveness and our forgiving those who hurt us.  Friends, I know how hard it is, especially when we know there’s no mistaking it.  They sought to hurt us, but by releasing them in our prayers to God by our forgiveness, we are able to love the sinner and we are actually setting ourselves free in Him!  We have been set free to love and serve the Lord.  It’s AMAZING!  It is our own self-imposed bondage which so often holds us back.  Let’s say yes to His love and the freedom He won for us out of that great love, shall we?
