The house is quiet.
It is early morning
And the moon is handing the reins to the sun.
The illusion of darkness fades
As the breath of a new day
Fills my heart and soul.
“Good Morning” Hope seems to say.
I rise.

As the sun rose
Its warming rays touched my
Night cooled flesh
With the thrill of a new day!

I awakened early,
Snuggled deep into my soft pillow
And wrapped warmly in my quilt
I pretended it was still time for sleep.
As I lay cozy in my bed
You whispered lovingly to me
And I sighed, smiled, and whispered back.
Gazing lovingly,
I felt your arms holding me close
As you filled my heart with you
And I realized it was there
That I would forever stay,
Waking, sleeping,
It matters not
As long as you’re with me.
Suddenly,
The wake-up melody sounded
High in the sky
On distant branches of the tall tree
Outside my window
And I realize the sun was opening
Its sleepy eyes,
And so did I.
Listening to the sweet songbirds
I added my praise to theirs
As together we faced the day.

Do you ever feel totally “less” and frustrated? Seriously, are you often struggling with feeling:
Less, less, less . . . makes us sad sometimes, doesn’t it? I know it does for me, and the big one . . . less loved. Think about it though.
“When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written: “‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.’”” Matthew 2:4-6
How full of hope is this? Born among dung, from a peasant girl, the wrong part of town . . . and then when He set out in ministry, whom did He chose for His friends, His team mates, His interns, His most trusted and closest followers of the day? People like me! The ones who were clearly less!
The old cliché says less is more – suddenly it seems as though it really is! I believe the sun is setting on the old life and a new day is dawning, don’t you?
