Praising God for theGift of a New Day

 

It’s been raining long and hard

And gray skies were all I could see.

But today is different,

Or perhaps I am,

For I see a bright spot

Glowing through the

Clouds of morning.

I shall dance!

Dancing with the raindrops

And celebrating the sun

Am I

For today is

A new day

And the Lord has blessed it!

HOW TO MAKE A BAD DAY GOOD

FIND A REASON TO REJOICE TODAY!

NOT AS HARD AS YOU THINK!

 

I get stressed, especially when I multitask and demand too much from myself!  The Lord doesn’t give us more than we can handle – we do!

• Take a praise break!   Can’t thiink of anything good about your day?
• relax your muscles
• breath deeply
• close your eyes
• say “Lord, thanks for loving me!”
• repeat until chest tightness relaxes
• REJOICE!

 

 

 

ALWAYS GIVE THANKS!

Beyond The Veil

 

 

 

 

 

 

For the Light costumed by darkness,

I thank you, Lord.

For the beauty I know but cannot see,

I thank you, Lord.

For the music I cannot hear yet still I dance

And thank you, Lord.

For your secret healing of my every need,

I thank you, Lord.

For living in this broken human’s heart,

I thank you, Lord.

For using me anyway,

All my love and thanks and praise to you.

Have Faith, BUT . . .

I have been facing BIG challenges for a while, as many of us do.  People have “encouraged” me saying”have faith” followed by “most people never get help for . .. ” or “the new president is getting rid of . . . ” Fortunately I DO have faith, as did my family before me.

Limits?  Not my Lord!

My late Uncle Bob had only one arm.  As a child he played ball, rode his bike . . . he grew up and joined the yaught club, was a great golfer, personally rebuilt his house . . . I guess they forgot to tell him he could never do those things . . .

QUIT IT! – GIVE THANKS!

That moment when you stop feeling sorry for yourself and realize YOU ARE LOVED!  Save time and trouble by dropping your attitude of selfishness and opt for gratitude!

BECKY AND THE MYTHICAL TURKEYS!

As we approach Thanksgiving and our focus on giving thanks moves to the forefront where it belongs, I am reminded of my dearly departed best friend and sister in Christ, Becky.  So many stories to share, late night giggles, discoveries, problems solved over ice cream, and the 3 hour phone calls . . . but as soon as my eyes fell upon the word mythical, I thought of turkeys!

As the story began, we chatted on the phone, Becky, my goddaughter Alice, and I.  Alice eagerly shared the tale of the mythical turkeys!  She and her folks had driven through the beautiful mountain roads to visit the grandparents  and in grandma’s neighborhood their journey was halted as a family of turkeys crossed the road.   When my friends reached their destination, they shared the turkey encounter and were told “never seen any wild turkeys around here!”

 

Each time, from that visit on,they met the family of turkeys en route to grandma’s and she always responded that same way and called them “mythical turkeys.” Alice waited for the day grandma would finally see them, but the day never came.  There are NO mythical turkeys in NC, I assure you.  Upon my visit with my friends I SAW THE TURKEYS!   THEY ARE REAL!
