And Jesus Said . . .

May 26, 2017

LOVE IS GREATER

They pointed and shook their heads.

“Not a grain of common sense,” they said.

Still she moved ahead.

“What is she thinking?”

She followed the path.

They called her names,

but it did not sway her.

Throwing things at her did nothing

to change her mind.

EXHAUSTION,

heat,

hunger,

threats. . .

loss of friends,

still she answered the same way.

“Follow me!” He’d invited.

Eagerly, she did.

TOO HEAVY

May 24, 2017

We have been commanded to love our enemies.

When we refuse to pray for them,

we are holding hate in our hearts.

LET IT GO.

Give it to GOD!

Be free!

Enlightened

Beauty in a storm

when I do not look in fear

sun peeks through the clouds

YOUR CHOICE!

May 19, 2017

Day three . . . will the rain EVER stop?

My mood was falling like the steady drops of rain

So I stepped outside.

I looked up at the clouds

Intending to share

a piece of my mind!

Instead,

The cooling, cleansing drops had their way

And I laughed

Then pounced in the nearest puddle!

I was young again!

FLAWED

May 16, 2017

Why do we have no qualms about missing worship,

yet are so very quick to make the false claim that our prayers go unheard?

Thankfully, we are loved and forgiven!  – Martha LShaw

REBORN AND REFRESHED

May 16, 2017

Like The Garden Grows

Too often I focus on the fallen leaves

Scattered on my weed covered bit of earth.

Signs of death and decay?

Perhaps, and yet . .  .

A rake,

A hoe,

A change of focus,

And new buds and blossoms appear .  . .

Or perhaps they lay in wait all along.

Beyond the shadows shines the blazing sun!

FREE YOUR INNER CHILD

May 8, 2017

When I was a child,

it did not really matter

that the carrot I pulled from the ground to eat

still had soil on it,

nor that I’d wiped the rest on my shirt.

The choice, there was none . . .

Focus on the carrot or on the dirt?

CRUNCH!
