The Stone

Finding my authentic self is quite a bit like the work of a sculptor as he chips away at the stone to reveal the beauty that is hidden within.  The difference lies in the fact that a stone cannot resist this gift of release but the human can indeed choose to deny the inner work of the Master Sculptor.   I choose freedom.  I choose life.  I choose Him.   – By  Martha L Shaw – © 3-29-2014

Freedom Thoughts Series

Home Redefined

My home is the sun shining down on me

And filling my soul

With light.

My home is a song,

An echo from heaven

Which gives my spirit wings.

My home has neither roof nor walls.

It is your hand holding me close.

I sing.

I smile.

I soar.

Hope is . . .

The willingness to foresee things as God intends them and the belief that this CAN come to fruition.

Spring’s Thaw

March 26, 2014

cardinal singing

It is cold in my sanctuary this morning

But so vast a choir sings so sweetly

That my heart is warmed

And my spirit renewed.

The Wake

March 20, 2014

The house is in stillness

laying in wait for the chaos

Yet to come.

I sip,

I breathe,

I wait.

I hear you sing.

I feel your gentle embrace.

I know your love.

Hope by Faith

Revelations In Writing

“But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope.” – (Galatians 5:5)

By faith, is in total trust of He who is worthy of our trust, despite that which we cannot see.

To eagerly await is a hopeful anticipation of what has not yet come.  It is an excited certainty that God is who He says He is, and that He will do what He has said He will do.

Through the Spirit, is the only way that we are capable of having faith in that which we cannot see.  God imparts to us, His Holy Spirit, Who assures us of His presence, His promises, and the hope to which we can hold.

Righteousness, is being right before God.  We are considered righteous from the moment we invite Jesus to be the Lord of our life, and shall be called righteous…
