Disciple's Thoughts

Angel Psalm 91

For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.

Psalm 91:11 NKJV

 When You are Afraid

My Mom taught us this when we were children.  It’s helpful to use when you feel alone and/or afraid for yourself, or the safety of a loved one.  Pray this to find comfort and bolster faith in His ability to keep us safe.

Safety for Me

Praise God!

The word of God says,

that His angels are set charge over you,

to guard you in all your ways.

Safety for a Loved One

Praise God!

The word of God says,

that His angels are set charge over (Your Loved One’s Name)

to guard them/him/her in all their/his/her ways.

Rise With A Song And A Prayer

June 28, 2014

How we feel does not need to rule the day.  Hope is within us.  Pray with me . . . Lord, I give my all to you and ask that you enable me to reflect your joy and hope on this day and always. Amen

In you, Lord my God,

    I put my trust.

Psalm 25:1

Just Dance!

June 25, 2014

just dance

I saw the others in the room

dancing to a tune I could not hear.

I stood aside,

I watched and sighed.

Wishing,

Wondering,

They seemed to share a joy

I didn’t know.

They seemed to know a love

I didn’t feel.

I waited in lonely silence.

Then, I could wait no more.

With awkward steps

I left my hiding place

And followed.

At first my steps

Were slow and few

But then it happened!

I began to hear the music, too!

The more I danced,

The less I considered my shaky feet

For I had found something else.

I discovered joy!

Lighten Up! – A Quote For Tuesday

June 24, 2014

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Matthew 5:14,16

isaiah 90 1

Wow, what a day yesterday was!  So much going on in my life!  How about you?  Ever feel like “all at once” and wonder “how am I going to . . . ” fill in the blanks.  Some good, some “I can’t fix this” and some “Lord, what’s up with this?”

Know what?  He’s in it!  It sure is too heavy to carry . . . alone!  Hey, I wasn’t meant to do that!!!  Jesus wants me to lighten up!  Hey, in more ways than one!  I only need to carry my part and the heavier part is HIS – so I’m working hard on handing things over.  Guess what?  The more He and I work closely together, the lighter I feel!  Know what else?  His radiance reflects on me and through me onto those in darkness!

Isn’t that our purpose?  To reflect Him in all we do?  The good stuff is easy to smile about.  The things in life that are held together with DUCT TAPE?  NO problem!  We will be just fine – Jesus has it covered!  In all things, let your light shine, people!

Lead on, Lord!  I’m ready!

Beyond The Veil

For the Light costumed by darkness,

I thank you, Lord.

For the beauty I know but cannot see,

I thank you, Lord.

For the music I cannot hear yet still I dance

And thank you, Lord.

For your secret healing of my every need,

I thank you, Lord.

For living in this broken human’s heart,

I thank you, Lord.

For using me anyway,

All my love and thanks and praise to you.

Amen

Displaced Blessings

June 21, 2014

Fleeting moments . . .

Can they be caught?

How often have I overlooked

What I have so longed for

As I closed the door on my heart

And drew the drapes?

Were they fleeting at all

Or did they merely coast along

And find a resting place

Without blinds?

Hope

Looking through the branches

was like peering beyond the veil

of darkness into day . . .

from death into life.
