Defining Passion

January 30, 2014

I quake in your presence

All the day long,

though I feel no fear.

You fill me

Body,

Mind,

And spirit,

Yet I hunger for more of you.

Awake . .  .  asleep,

In darkness or  light

Your face I see,

But my quest for you is,

In this world,

Without end.

Love transcends the veil.

Are You Lost?

January 30, 2014

When you are lost in the wilderness, you have two choices. You can focus on how many trees there are and so close together  that they are blocking most of the sun light . . . . or you can focus on the Light that breaks through and know that you are being provided with direction . . . and follow that path.

John 1:5

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

You Are The Potter

January 29, 2014

Sometimes I just need to call out to Abba and He is always there when I do . . . and when I do not.  He knows my every need.  How amazing is that love?

Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

Psalm 119:76
May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

John 14:1
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me

Another Red Letter Day

I ran into a wonderful concept this morning as I was doing some homework on our retreat. I came across this verse:

The LORD is my strength and my song,
and he has become my salvation;
this is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him. – Exodus 15:2 ESV

We were given a number of verse to read, and as I was looking at this one, I wondered about the root for the word ‘praise,’ as I know there are many Hebrew words translated as such.

I first noticed that the KJV translates it

The LORD is my strength and song,
and he is become my salvation:
he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation;
my father’s God, and I will exalt him. – Exodus 15:2 KJV

It turns out this word ,transliterated ‘navah,’ is defined as follows:

Don’t Walk By Sight!

January 27, 2014

New Heaven on Earth!

slide_22393_271623_free

My eyes have been opened to so many things lately. I don’t know if the things I saw were in the spirit or in the physical realm, but it was almost too much to bear.

The revelation I had this morning in a deeper, more powerful way is that we are to walk by faith, not by sight. We are to walk by Spiritual sight, not physical sight, and live by Spiritual sight. The physical world is always changing; the Spirit of the Most High never changes: it is new every morning! There are bad spirits and good spirits, but we are not to eat any of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil; we are to follow Christ and eat of the tree of life which only has the BEST fruit and ALWAYS in season!!! Oswald Chambers said the “good” is always an enemy…

The Master Tool

January 27, 2014

crustybread

For I do not rely on my bow, and my sword does not give me the victory. Psalm 44:6  But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. I will give you thanks for what you have done and declare the goodness of your Name in the presence of the godly. Psalm 52:8-9  It is said that with the right tools anything can be done. Yet clearly, this passage in Psalm 44 reminds me that something far deeper is needed. It is possible to physically have everything one needs to get a job done and still come up short. However, the glory in the battle belongs to God and a war waged against a heart for God, ultimately has no chance for eternal reward. Every ministry for the glory of God, both new and…

Blessings From The Compost Heap

January 22, 2014

I sit here seeing only ruin around me and being unable to climb out of its vastness and praying somehow His purpose in it will come to fruition.   I realize I may not see His purpose but there is peace to be found in knowing He uses all things.  As I did a bit of reading just now, this quote came to me:

All the flowers of tomorrow are the seeds of today.

– Anonymous –

It seems in life there are times when we, or I, are called to be the compost nourishing the seeds from which tomorrow’s flowers grow.  These times can be uncomfortable and even painful, but if it blesses the Lord, it is good.

A new season is coming and the flowers will bloom!

Deceived?

Despair is the ultimate deception.  Take heart!
