URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FOR MY PRIEST FRIEND ALAN!

May 31, 2012

Many of you have seen the post a week ago about what a blessing it was for me to have had a recent visit from my dear friend and retired priest Alan.  What you may not know is that this eternally young man lives in constant pain in his back, hip, and knees.  In the last few days this pain has grown worse and worse.  There seems to be nothing doctors can do to help him.  He is a very special man of God and hungers to serve Him.  He, in fact, responded to an email from me about HIS health and pain by telling me he was PRAYING FOR MY SITUATION.  I know the level of pain he is in which has been steady, so this tells y0u how special he is.  His stomach, not surprisingly, is also sick now.  He described his pain as “like I am being stabbed over and over with a knife.”

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I need you to join me in blanketing this man in prayer.  Even though the medical professionals cannot help him, we know the source of all healing is the Lord and that He can change Alan’s life instantly.  PLEASE join me in prayer for this man who is suffering beyond measure!

Thank y0u so much!

Please BE QUIET!

May 31, 2012

I admit it.  When I first read this quote, below, I had issues with it.  Please do not feel discouraged by it.  I am sharing it NOT to accuse, but to encourage.  The quote:

All of the troubles of life come upon us because we refuse to sit quietly for a while each day in our rooms.

– Blaise Pascal –

Our Lord seeks to take all our “stuff” on Himself!  When I turn to Him, He gives me His peace.  My quiet times with Him are life-giving.  All the challenges of this world do not go away for there are new ones coming along all the time, but when I turn to Him and listen in quiet and simply rest in His loving arms, my challenges no longer overcome me.

Prayer and Praise Update for Baby Khloe!

May 31, 2012

Great news, prayer warriors

!!  I have a new and super encouraging praise report on baby Khloe!  My friend Sue reports that her granddaughter is beginning to look and act  a whole lot like her “old self” and the signs of her recovery from the bout with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome cannot be denied.  Praise the Lord with me in thanksgiving for this healing!

While we are thrilled at this news, this diagnosis is serious and even after this, her first bout with it, seems to have totally gone there is still the chance that it can come back.  Please keep this wee one in your prayers.

Her pediatrician has indicated that the child must have a “mild case” but her grandmother, her parents, and all of her loved ones know, as we do, that the Lord who loves her has heard our prayers and His promises have been fulfilled!

Thank you for your prayer support – please keep those prayers going!

I can sure relate to this. Thanks.

Trust is a very difficult element of life.  Experience and situations over time lead us to be very hesitant in trusting.  Whether it is an individual, an  institution, or an entity, I sometimes struggle with giving complete trust.  However, as a believer, I am expected to trust in the Lord always.  As strongly as I believe in the Lord and all the promises that are recorded in Scripture, I still have times when I battle trusting the Lord in all situations.  I think the main reason is that since the Lord’s ways are higher than my own, sometimes the Lord does what is best for me but not always what I desire to have as an outcome.  When my desires are not met, then I question if the Lord is really working situations out for the best.  Yet, every time I look back on those situations, I truly do see…

Today’s Smart Cookie

May 30, 2012

Okay, so thinking the sky was gonna fall last night kept Mom and I both awake.  Today, we be tired!  It is with that in mind that I offer you wisdom from a cookie.  Yes, Mom offered to treat me to lunch at the local Chinese place.  Between the two of us we had no energy for much and since it’s just up the street, it seemed like a good choice.  We liked it.

We both get a laugh out of the fortune cookies . . . I even occasionally eat mine!  Perhaps it is my tired brain, but today’s cookie seemed really quite wise . . .

This sure does sound like ideal life as one in the body of Christ:

I Need Prayer Right Now UPDATED

May 30, 2012

Sorry for the drama, but I need a miracle and I know where to turn.  I am praying and seeking your prayer support.  A short time ago, the tropical storm we are currently experiencing just knocked down a large portion of a huge tree in my back yard.  It is pressed right into my house.  I cannot see in the dark (happened past midnight) and with wind-driven rain coming down.  At present there is no leak coming in.  However, from what I can see, it will be a miracle if there’s no damage.

Most of you are praying for the Lord to reveal to my the source of my provision needs since I’ve had only a few temporary jobs in 4 years and have used up most of my resources, so I sure do need a miracle here.  I’m afraid to sleep in my own room since this is supposed to last a while and another downed bit of tree could easily land through the roof over my bed where I would have thought this fallen limb might have.

Thanks for your prayers for the Lord to meet all my health, home, vocation, and financial needs.  I appreciate it.  We all know what happens when two or three gather in His name.

UPDATE

As you may have seen in my comments, the rest of the tree did not fall, nor any further branches.  at this time I have found no damage to my home even though the branch slammed into it.  It is too heavy for me to move, but I did nudge it a wee bit and saw no harm.
